KidRobot Launch Event

What do you get when you infuse art, urban street wear, toys, and cool clothes? Kidrobot. So it didn't take much convincing for me to attend the re-opening of the SoHo Kidrobot store. This store that started out as a tiny boutique has been expanded into a two-story adult candyland. The grand opening was scheduled for 6pm and when I arrived at 5, the line had already wrapped around the block. The cool thing about Kidrobot is their consumers. I was standing in line with all kinds of people ranging from LES hipsters, music snobs, urban cool cats, and the unassuming older corporate crowd. Oh yeah, and then there was me. I just love clothes.

Kidrobot started out as collectible toys and now include trendy apparel. The style is what I call "wearable art." The designs are funky, pop artish, and super colorful. The store itself reflects the brand with it's bold colors, funky design, and bright lights. Definitely stimulus overload.
